The Documentary Filmmaking Field Expedition is an immersive course designed to provide participants with comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience in creating compelling documentaries. Over the course of one month, students will embark on an exciting journey, learning various aspects of documentary filmmaking while exploring unique locations and engaging with diverse communities.

Week 1: Introduction to Documentary Filmmaking

– Learning about documentary ethics and responsible storytelling
– Introduction to camera equipment, sound recording, and essential filmmaking gear
Week 2: Pre-production and Planning
– Research techniques and finding compelling documentary subjects
– Conducting interviews and building relationships with subjects
– Crafting a documentary concept and developing a production plan
– Storyboarding and scripting the documentary narrative
Week 3: Production and Fieldwork
– Hands-on experience in shooting footage in various real-world environments
