Meet our Semi Finalists

Submissions poured in from around the globe, but these talented candidates stood out and made it to the semi-finals through a blind read by the Hollywood producers. Semi-finalists were then tasked with developing their film bibles for the final stage of the competition. Now, with their bibles submitted, we’re eagerly awaiting the announcement of the winner by Hollywood producer Orange Corp*.

The fortunate winner will have the incredible opportunity to see their film produced by Orange Corp in the coming months, with the goal of debuting at a major international film festival.

‘Producers who backed films like: ‘The Bohemian Rhapsody’, ‘The Imitation game’ and currently shooting the new ‘Cleopatra’ starring Gal Gadot.

They have presented some great short story concepts and have now delivered their film bibles. We are all waiting for the Hollywood producer Orange Corp to announce the winner!

Wan-Yu Chen

Taiwan

Wan-Yu Chen is a filmmaker based in Taiwan who graduated from Vancouver Film School. With years of experience as an assistant director in the Taiwan TV series and film industry, she has made significant contributions to various projects. The TV movie “Where the Sun Don’t Shine", where she served as the 1st AD, won the Best TV Movie at the Taiwan Golden Bell Awards in 2018. Wan-Yu also worked as an AD on the HBO Asia Series “Folklore Season 2” Episode 1 and the Taiwanese sequel movie “The Rope Curse 3.” Recently, she took on the role of production coordinator for the pilot of the TV series “ZERO DAY” and the documentary series “Taiwan in Transition”. Wan-Yu’s dream is to bring Taiwanese movies to global recognition

Deborah Villa

Holland

Award-winning Dutch multi-hyphenate Dorith Mous transitioned from a successful career in front of the camera to one behind it. She elicits an artful finesse of the soul - one in which her subjects both exude and challenge beauty and ideology. Pallavi Reddy

India

Pallavi Gangireddy is an accomplished Film Director with 10 years in the Indian Film Industry, is known for the psychological horror web series “Anya’s Tutorial,” on AHA Telugu and AHA Tamil, produced by Arka Media Pvt. Ltd. She has also worked on films like “Spyder” and “Akira” with director A R Murugadoss. As a creative producer at Arha Media & Broadcasting, she excelled in content curation and project management, ensuring engaging narratives and adherence to the creative vision. The visual palette will shift between the warm hues of home life and the stark tones of boarding school, highlighting emotional shifts. The climax will celebrate collaboration and the indomitable spirit of youth, conveying hope and perseverance.

Kristin Burniston

England

Kristin Burniston is a British-American writer and producer with an MA in Screenwriting from the University of the Arts London and a BA in Communication Arts (Radio, TV, Film) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her background is that of a creative producer in music, corporate, and live arts events, theatre maker, and performer. Award-winning and prolific, Kristin has big plans and an array of exciting projects seeking producers, including a feature film, a TV drama pilot, and a children’s animation series for ages 6-9.

Vitasta Dhar & Latika Kaushik

India

Whistling Woods* played a crucial role in shaping Latika’s and Vitasta’s creative vision and honing their skills, which are brought to life in this story. Their experience as Assistant Directors in the Hindi Film Industry has given them valuable on-set knowledge and a deeper understanding of filmmaking. They have had the pleasure of working with directors such as Rajkumar Hirani and Luv Ranjan, as well as on a short psychological thriller called “Fickle” which garnered 19 awards in over 75 film festivals internationally. It is currently streaming on Jio Cinema. With Indian and Kenyan heritage combined they make a powerful duo *Renowned film and media arts institute in Mumbai, India. Founded by filmmaker Subhash Ghai, offering industry-relevant programs in filmmaking, acting, animation, and media management, with strong ties to Bollywood and global entertainment industries.
