In a world filled with captivating stories waiting to be told, the power of filmmaking knows no bounds. As an avid film enthusiast, I have always been captivated by the magic of the silver screen and the profound impact that movies can have on our lives.
From an early age, I was exposed to global cinema, being born to an Indian Father and Filipino Mother while born and raised in Denmark. I embraced the music, dance and colourfulness of Indian cinema, Danish films with its naturalistic approach and minimalist aesthetics and Hollywood with a mix of everything.
The passion for films and the creatives has led me to create GoCreator. GoCreator is a platform designed to unleash creativity and empower filmmakers around the globe with an online marketplace to sell and find new buyers of their films.
In this article, I will share the story behind the creation of GoCreator and the driving force behind its mission.
Fostering Opportunities!
GoCreator was born out of a desire to provide a platform where filmmakers of all backgrounds could thrive and connect with a global audience. As an actress and producer, I first handedly experienced and recognised the challenges faced by many independent filmmakers in gaining exposure and securing distribution deals.
I set out to create a solution that would bridge this gap. What really struck me was the market analytics demonstrating that only 27% of global independent film makers worldwide get to sell their films. The reasons being; film makers cannot find the buyers and buyers cannot find the film makers.
It is important to acknowledge that while physical film markets contribute to such sales and exposure, there is a vast group of independent filmmakers who simply cannot afford to participate and if they do, there is a greater chance they get lost in the crowd and overwhelmed with how to navigate this space.
I have often been told by attendees at film markets that it can take about 6-15 years to understand how the business works. I thought there had to be an easier and quicker way. That is partly how the idea for GoCreator – an online Film library for filmmakers to list their films and projects to be found by buyers and investors in a similar way.
Furthermore, It can be argued but not ignored that digital marketplace like GoCreator is replacing physical marketplace much faster to one’s expectation.
GoCreator aims to level the playing field by offering a space where creativity knows no bounds and talent can shine.

Together with two ex-colleagues from Nasdaq; Lara and Smitha, we are three female founders that share similar goals and values when it comes to empowering people.
